Good match for UM3X?

So, what would be a good match for Westone UM3X?

I'd like a bit more bass depth, and perhaps some wider soundstage and/or transparency.... possible?

Portability is tops.

The more I use the um3x with my Corda xxs...the more I like it. I think it adds a nice bit of punch compared to just my ipod alone. I've read on other threads that the 3x benefits little from amping, but I disagree imho. I almost sold it (xxs)...glad I didn't now. Good luck.

Please dont mind I want to chime in as I got same problem here. xxs should be different version of headsix. Instead of punchy bass, I rather it could widen soundstage or move vocal little far away. I came across fs forum and knew you have sold dt880 recently. I am going to take UM3X with xxs doing some dt880 can't

I'm not sure I fully understand your ?. However..I just sold the dt770 only because after I ordered them I got the um3x and needed to help cover the cost. (in my 40's I still by on impulse!) Being I listen to Iem's 99.5% of the time...I sold the 770. It's not that they couldn't do something better then um3x per say. They sounded great too with my xxs. Just knew I would use them way less than the um3x.
As far as soundstage on the um3x and xxs, I think is is improved a little..but the vocals are still upfront to me. Hope this helps..

You fully answered my questions. It helps a lot. I kind of know xxs is netural amp which don't color sound. That is proved by your words. thanks.

just my uneducated opinion, reading from somewhere that UM3X seems to be like an improved PFE (?) and the PFE has a good synergy with T4 (great portability + 4CH) and also with MBE+ (18V) going to an upper level, then maybe you could try these amps. some also have said that amping is not necessary for UM3X. I don't know. Never heard of it. I'm just good with PFE. just my two cents...
