RCA to Mini Cable - Worth it at all to spend much?

Hey all,

I'm a total noob when it comes to cables, and still somewhat think that cables may not make overly big difference (at least not on a price/performance basis) when it comes to interconnects. But I do believe that too cheap of a cable can possibly be a downfall of a mid level setup.

My current setup is Eee 1000 -> generic USB -> Total Bithead -> generic mini to RCA -> Head-Direct EF1 -> HD650/K701. Neither the USB or the RCA to mini are required to be long, since they are pretty much right next to each other (if distance matters at all, I dunno). In this setup, is it REALLY worth it to upgrade the RCA to mini? I've looked at Blue Jeans Audio and they seem to go for about $30 but without shipping (and since I'm in Canada it would increase to a lot more after shipping and customs). Everything local is pretty much generics and Monster cables (which won't make much difference at all I'm told). So will this upgrade in cable bring about any sort of audible changes to what I'm hearing right now, or should I not bother? The one I have is a nexxtech brand from my local The Source at Circuit City (Formerly Radio Shack in Canada), and while the sound seems fine to me, I really don't have anything else to compare to.

Thanks in advance for any input.

the blue jeans is a good option...i was going to get one of those but won an auction for the zu pilot on ebay for $35...so you definitely do NOT have to spend alot to get a solid rca>mini cable...BUT cables do matter

I just got one from Blue Jean Cable. Very impressed. Nice, solid cable, sounds great and wasn't that expensive.
