Cheap amp to power 32 Ohm RP21's

I apologize if this question is silly or if it's been asked before, but I couldn't find an answer so here goes.

I have Equation RP21's and use them almost exclusively from my computer. I upgraded my OS from XP to Win7's RC and Creative does not make a driver for the Sound Blaster Live 5.1 that I was using for the new OS.

The primary issue that I have with connecting my headphones to the PC's onboard sound is actually volume. With every available PC setting all the way up, the cans are about 40% of where I would want the max volume to be-I can hear them clearly, but it's quite far from loud.

Secondarily, everything is kind of muffled, which I expect is just another effect of not having enough power.

So, realizing that the problem is clearly that the PC doesn't have enough power going out (but with the Creative card it was good enough for my usage) would a cheap CMoy amp from eBay or one of the E3/E5 type amps give me a substantial volume/power boost?

The other option would be to upgrade the sound card to a PCI soundcard that has more power.

I'm open to either a new soundcard or a cheap amp, but my budget is pretty scant-like around $40-50 is all. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I like my music and my games loud and full-sounding which is exactly what I don't have now.

This is the part where you guys tell me about the cheap amp that you have that is great or that all CMoy amps give enough volume or the sweet soundcard deal that you got. I'm also open to buying used if one of you is looking to unload something.

Thanks in advance!

woops that's actually not cheap... i'd Try the FiiO E5 it's cheap and it might be worth it.

I agree, FiiO would be a good choice.

So 2 votes for the FiiO E5?

It's cheap enough, that's for sure. Does the E5 give a lot more volume to an underpowered source?

Bump for other opinions.

Is the FiiO E5 going to give me enough power/volume is my main question at this point. Unless somebody knows of a good soundcard that would power the cans and clean up the source at the same time. I know Xonars are good but they're too pricey for me and I can't find an audigy 2 zs or X-fi in the right range plus I'm not a big Creative fan.

Just as an update, I ran across a nib X Fi Titanium pci-e on eBay for $40. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be worth the extra $20 over the FiiO amp, since I'll get a better source as well as more power and some of the features are pretty cool for me since I play games on the PC too.

If you look around here or ebay you may be able to find a used Headroom Airhead for around your budget (maybe a couple of dollars more). That might be a good option.
