I hope they're not metal, honestly. I wouldn't even mind plastic, if they sound better than the HF1. Then I won't feel bad woodying them

Order placed a couple of hours ago.

Let's get out the predict-o-matic. If TTVJ says these sound like a baby PS-1000, then it's probably safe to assume they use the GS-1000/PS-1000 driver and large earcups.

Keeping with the HF-1, I might suppose the HF-2 also has a plastic outer cup with mahogany on the inside.

Just speculation, but it makes sense to me.

Also, we might as well start the fight over the ethics of selling a HF-2 on eBay or Audiogon to people who aren't Head-Fi members, reselling for more than the MSRP, and how much the stock cable "sucks."

Wow! This is exciting news. Grado and TTVJ deserve a big thanks.

At $200 I bought the HF-1 on impulse, but more than twice the price I certainly have to think about it a lot more. It would be hard for me to justify buying another pair of headphones.

Make my mortgage payment this month vs. HF-2

The HF-2 is only available at TTVJ but it is available to ALL Head-Fiers. Thanks to everyone who has ordered or called to inquire about this headphone.

It will be very exciting to see and hear from everyone at CanJam about their take on this headphone. We will have the unveiling first thing in the morning on Saturday. Very, very tempting. How does the HF-1 compare with the Denon D7000? And how did the original HF-1 compare with the other Grado cans?

I'm very tempted to order but I need to know what I'm getting.

Thnks for that Todd, as I said to someone else "It is for Head-Fi members", and I myself (as an European Head-Fi member) feel happy I already ordered from you.

I hope the headband is the ones of the RS/GS1000 series. For the price it could be nice it were that type. SQ and Comfort are very important aspects!

If someone has a HF-2 and only bought it to be resold, I would understand that it would make many teeth clenching angry. I feel that is unethical, but if it is in their possession, what can anyone do about it?

This morning I was thinking about downsizing/downgrading to a CK2III (the parts have shipped), a new dac (pico/opus/gamma/buffalo) and a pair of Grado-SR225(or keep my RS1), HD600 and K501. Well, these things can change VERY quickly:P Can't wait to hear the HF2 coming my way

Well, your point on how the HF-2 might look is quite probable. About the drivers I can't tell, only have sr225 and don't know how the other drivers are.
As i wrote on the other thread I hope it comes with a reference/GS1000 series headband. SQ and Comfort are important!
