1.the only grado i liked is GS1000,hated RS-1,so are they close in sound to RS-1 or GS-1000?
I haven't heard them yet, but the HF-2 are said to have the same sound signature as the HF-1, which I'm very familiar with. HF-1 is very similar, in my opinion, to the RS-1, especially after woodying. I found the GS-1000 to be totally different from the RS-1/HF-1. I for one didn't care for the GS-1000 at all...so my advice would be if you love the GS-1000 to stay away from the HF-2.

They do not sound like HF-1 or RS-1 to my ears. See my previous impressions.

Anyone know how the HF-2 compares to the HP-2?
HF2s are still john grados and the hp2 is still a joe grado. They're similarly comfortable, but sound significantly different.

that really wouldn't surprise me, i use my bowls from my sr225's on my sr60's with my computer and like the sound a lot more. hell going from a 5 cent plastic mesh to a 10 cent wire one for better airflow on the 225's? i guess it does work better considering i bought the damned headphones

Nope - the SR-60 plain suck with bowls to my ears, and I can't make them into an SR-80 by installing bowls. Nor can I make the SR-80 sound as good as my MS-1, although I think the SR-80 come close. I think there is something else different than just the pads.

On the other hand, I don't think the actual SR-60 drivers suck, because my ALO woodied/re-cabled SR-60 beat my MS-1 (and the SR-80).

I put in my order today. Can't wait!

I did not order flats at the time of purchase I will later for fun I guess.

I hope to have a CTH done around the time I have my HF2. B22 is far from done. But since Im laid off. I have nothing but time!

That wouldn't fly now, because the 80s now come with the comfies.

Hello, I just got off the phone with Todd. He said there's been a slight delay. HF-2s are being built and cups are at the engravers (no jokes please). Todd will post an update on his site and on Head-Fi today. Just a note, the drivers on the HF-2 are NOT from the 80 nor the PS-1000. LoL. And speaking of the PS-1000, he'll have 6 more coming in. That is all I have to report. Peace, -Ross

Thnks for that Ross, shame to see they are being delayed, but if you speak with him again tell him that we prefer if they are well built even if we have to wait a bit more (At least that is me )

For, hopefully, the last time, saying the drivers were the same as SR80s was a joke. As one of the two people who started it (evil grawk being the other), and as the one who first typed that suggestion, I hope to put that idea fully out of people's heads. It's not true.

Sorry to hear there's a delay. You'll all still be as happy when you do get them.

Yep, that's the sentiment I shared with Todd. As for mentioning the 80 drivers, yes we all know it's all in fun. And why not have fun with Todd with it? I think (don't know) he sees it for the tongue-in-cheek fun it is.

I would give anything to have 30 minutes to compare an RS-1 with the HF-2 before purchasing. I've read so many conflicting statements about the relative quality of these phones in relation to each other.
