I have the GMP 8.300 D, which is 300 ohm.
I think the sound signature of the GMP 8.300 is different from the old QP805. The specs are different as well.
And yes, damping material and ear pads makes a big difference in sound.
The Beyer leather pads were great on the 8.300, besides adding a slight nasal sound, which became irritating after a while.
And they muffled the treble a bit.

The QP 805 is rated 300 Ohms there while my H 805 has 100 Ohm printed on the housing.

IMHO 51 € is way overpriced, even for genuine leather pads. But I never had any and wanted to test them.
