NOTE: The clamping factor will obviously differ from person to person, but I'm surprised to find little mention of it, as it is the sole reason I'd never think twice about...
When I listened to the sound for the 1st time, I was hit by it. I was punched by the not-punchy-bass. I was hoping it would offer much better bass response than SE315.. equals to Klipsch Image...
Synopsis: The Aurisonics AS-1b is a very nice custom-fit monitor with a sound tuned for the needs of professional musicians performing on stage. It gives the listener a mid-centric sound that...
HiFiMAN HE400
By now I think most of us are familiar with the history behind the HiFiMAN HE-series headphones. What started with a single model has grown into a full...
I was in Japan and was looking at headphones to buy. I had a cheap budget of about 4000 yen or circa $40. I bought this headphone because it was on sale for $30 and was very good looking. It was...
I contacted Sony and the A867 will not be released in the US due to "design difference"
They said the reason is the EU volume limitation. That model was never intended for the US market, but will continue to be available in the UK and European market
They did not comment on the possibility for future 64GB player release.
Maybe the best option is to get the EU 64GB player and use a LOD cable to an amp....problem solved!

Sure that's always an option, but many times when I travel it's just my Sony X and whatever IEM's I'm rocking at the time. Volume cap would kill that for sure. I think Sony is f'n up pretty significantly lately when it comes to digital audio players.

I have had volume capped players forever and have never notice not enough volume for IEMs.
My audio port died haha. Sad day. The 32gb model has served faithfully past 3 years (I think it's 3... or is it 2? Can't remember)
Any suggestions from fellow X owners which DAP I should go for?
Been looking for a replacement for a long time now. A867 seems to be an option. Maybe new Samsyng 4.0 and 5.0 but a bit bigish. Cowon J3, but no LOD capabilities. Maybe a new Sony Walkman running Android.
Never had any problems iwth that on my X1060. Unless you use some hard to drive phone there will be no problem with that. If you use hard to drive phones get a LOD and an amp and you will not have any caps.
