No worries about discussing options to the X....
I've thought about the Clip+ or J3 myself, since my X's battery is dying a slow death I think. You can Rockbox the Clip+ too, which is a huge perk.

I contacted Sony and the A867 will not be released in the US due to "design difference"
They said the reason is the EU volume limitation. That model was never intended for the US market, but will continue to be available in the UK and European market
They did not comment on the possibility for future 64GB player release.
Maybe the best option is to get the EU 64GB player and use a LOD cable to an amp....problem solved!
It will be back in stock September 23rd:

I have had volume capped players forever and have never notice not enough volume for IEMs.
When I run the X1061 with the Monster Turbine Coppers it seems to run out of power
The output power is a weak 5mW + 5mW:
That's why I'm getting the Fiio L5 LOD to a DAC/amp combo
Yes, I encountered that with the Coppers too... Any earphone which is somewhat harder to drive would suffer with a volume cap.
Hello anyone.
I'd like to get new, better in-ear headphones but i'd like also to keep the Noise Canceling feature.
what about the Sony MDR-EX700?
Any suggestion?
Thanks
No IEMs will work with NC on this apart from the original ones. Just buz some IEMs with good isolation.
My audio port died haha. Sad day. The 32gb model has served faithfully past 3 years (I think it's 3... or is it 2? Can't remember)
Any suggestions from fellow X owners which DAP I should go for?
Been looking for a replacement for a long time now. A867 seems to be an option. Maybe new Samsyng 4.0 and 5.0 but a bit bigish. Cowon J3, but no LOD capabilities. Maybe a new Sony Walkman running Android.
I would get the A867 but... audio cap. SIGH.
Never had any problems iwth that on my X1060. Unless you use some hard to drive phone there will be no problem with that. If you use hard to drive phones get a LOD and an amp and you will not have any caps.
The X - as far as I can remember - didn't seem to have a volume cap here in Europe. I think it was the last released Sony which didn't.
Saying that, I've had no problems with the volume cap on my recent Sonys, although I can appreciate that this is a problem for many.
Nope, France's devices were capped.
I want a New Sony X, not a Sony Z

Does it worth to change from Cowon to x1000? (I am only concerned about sq.)
