X2, cheers. Still amazes me daily, during all day work listening sessions....

^ haha nice. i just recently discovered that when you drag & drop videos through windows explorer it automatically converts it. now i don't have to fiddle anymore with the settings of my previous video converter when converting just to make sure that the videos plays on my X.

Too bad "drag & drop" only converts to 320 x 240 with a crappy compression. The X1050 is capable of a higher resolution and plays flawless up to 1500kbps. If you manually convert your videos (Ripbot: 480 x 270, H264 MP4, 1500kbps) you get MUCH better results. Try it!

whillst I still like the SQ of the X - which is superb

I'm really not impressed at all with the screen on the X - it may be an OLED - but I much prefer the screen on my IPOD Touch.

Hey all, as I mentioned a few pages back the sony x is most likely my next DAP to purchase, however I'm trying to play the waiting game in case they release a new one which will either be "better" or will drive down the cost of the original x series. So... how reliable are these things? Seeing as I'll probably be buying a used one I don't exactly want to risk it with something unreliable (eg xbox 360s).

Ta

Edit: Having said that there's only one on ebay atm , these things must be good...

You have to jump on the bandwagon sometime, the X has been out less than a year so I can't see them making a replacement anytime soon. Even if they do I couldn't care less, I'm more than happy with mine.

I have a couple of questions:

1. can someone give me all the settings they use in a specific video converter 'cause this is really complicated.

2. I tried to connect to my router and I entered the wep key (not sure) but it says its not right, that it should be 10 or 25 hexa or 5 or something ascii, what should I do?

There are several topics on video-conversion for the X over at the ABI forum. If you follow those instructions step-by-step I can't imagine you running into any more trouble.

Read the last few pages of this thread... It's not quite ready apparently.

Ah yeah, here's a post of his which links you to the company he purchased it from. I wonder how he's getting on with that cable now....

Thanks. Can't wait to see more impression about this. As far as the quality is outstanding, I think there are a lot of potential buyers here waiting to try this out
