Amp Suggestions

I am thinking about getting a new amp. I am currently going to be using the Singlepower MPX3 Slam. The headphones I will be using are the Sony MDR 10s and the Grado PS1000. The amps I am thinking about getting are the Woo Audio WA5 LE, the Eddie Current Zana Duex, EAR HP4 (good with grados?), RSA Raptor or Apache and maybe a solid state amp if I could get one that performs at a high level, suggestions? Or, I may just stick with the MPX3 Slam if none of the above are a step up. So, any suggestions on which direction I may want to look would be appreciated. Thanks

Why dont you trade in your isabella for the one with the headphone output? RWA is giving 100% trade in toward upgraded setups. For $500 upgrade it might be worth looking into.

My Isabella is in my main stereo system in my basement. I don't want to listen to headphones down there, If I am down there, I want speakers. My headphone station is by my bed so there is no way I would/could put the Isabella there.

How about a custom built Beta 22?

Have you tried a Naim Headline? It might be a good combo with your CDX2.

Oh, I pulled the Naim out and am using Apple Lossless from Itunes as my source. I have an Apogee Duet as my DAC for now.

Ok. Well then you can still try it, but I can't recommend anything from experience.

Yeah, your right, I could still try it. From doing a search, it seems there is limited exposure to the Naim Headline on Headfi but what is there is all positive. Now, I know it is a lot cheaper than the amps from a above I was considering, which of course is a good thing, but I would need to know if it was on the level or able to compete with the other amps. So far no one has claimed it is a giant killer or anything.

If you're just looking for a list of high end amps, there's this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f113/w...-forum-421967/

If you're asking what amps specifically sound great with the R10, then you'd probably want to ask some R10 owners. I believe almost nobody currently has a PS1000... Sanderman is the only person I can think of atm.

thanks for the link. Zanth has a PS1000 now too. He posted some impressions about a week back or so.

That depends on how much money you spend on the power supply. It can get quite expensive...
