it just came in today. about 2 weeks total. but worth the wait. a definite noticeable improvement in every aspect. man. i will say that the bass seems a little tigher and punchy than deep and well defined. and i can see what that other guy was saying in his thread about being alittle rough edged in the upper mid range. but oh man. you wont go wrong with this thing for 70 bucks... my brain is melting right now. i'll think about modding later. damn man.... this thing is seriously.. wow

playing flac files from my sansamod. dude im f****** speechless right now. i didn't expect this kind of improvement. granted i still see where a different set of phones would really really really shine with this amp (like ety or pfe). but even now i am at least finally satisfied with my se420s. the se420s are thankful. they say thank you to robert gehrke. you complete us.

this thing is no joke.. and i've had an afternoon of burn in so far.
yeh it cleans up quite quickly with burn in ,theres a track called love spreads by the stone roses ,first play it sounded very rough (theres alot of stuff going on in this track) but its getting better and better and more detailed classical sounded amazing from day 1 as did the ultrasone demo cd (no loss of the immense soundstage on these tracks infact an improvement
my rechargable batterys lasting great as well

I kind of had buyers remorse when I first heard mine, but I set it up to burn in for a while and it got a lot better. That's why I recommended it in my earlier post because if no one told you, you might be disappointed like I was. I chose this over other Cmoys after reading that it sounded like $200+ amps. I plan to upgrade everything but the amp because it sounds good for me so far. It should have an Appreciation thread like there is for headphones in the IEM section.

so it has recharge capabability right? is it recharging with the switch off or on or both. can you listen to it while it's charging? i assume i should remove a regular alkaline battery before plugging it in at all right?

also the low gain setting seems a little on the weak side. i run high. my 22 ohm iems take it just fine.

i listen to it while im charging same as i did with the e5 i would think that without a switch you have to remove a normal battery as the charge is still trickling in, im only using a 260 9v but it lasts fine at the moment

so does it also charge with the switch off. and another important question... does it STOP charging? or do i want to be careful how long i leave it charge. ?
I would have thought yes and yes to the above after looking at the LM317 charging circuit specs but might be worth asking Robert

Hey Anthony L, good call on the Ultrasone Demo disc! It's a lot more fun than the Stax one I listen to and made my walk a little disoriented when I was give it a listen. Having water splashing and fireworks going off around me was almost too impressive and I almost wanted to shut it off until I could sit and listen at home and not freak out in public.
