Indeed, our listening tests weren't that thorough, but, to my ears, it was quite obvious that the JMoney's and the DT880'03 weren't a very good match. It didn't sound right _at all_ with metal (didn't listen to anything else, but vastly preferred te velours in that particular case). They polluted the sound in a disturbing way. Kind of like putting leather pads straight onto DT990's (altough less extreme, they sounden way less hollow). I don't have much more to say about it, because I wanted to switch back to the velour pads the very second the music started playing on the DT880/JMoney combo :/

To me, the JMoney's provide a little less comfort to my Darth's (deep V3's) over Beyer's own (aviation) leather pads. The foam that Jeremy uses has more stiffness to them than the aviation pads. That stiffness combined with the high skull-pressure of the Darths results in a less comfortable headphone. That being said, JMoney's pads hold their own in the bass department. The Darth's sound cleaner overall with the JMoney's on them. And I think (and hope) they'll last longer because of the stitched parts in stead of parts that were molten together (in Beyer's case).

And they look niice The texture is amazing.

I just made a fine conclusion after several hours of listening and i want to quote exactly what xxtest83 said:

"Compared to the velourpads of the 3 weeks old DT 880 (600 Ohm), the leather pads give a greater body through a more emphasized bass and a fuller , warmer, sweeter midrange, while recessing the highs a bit which always were somewhat a problem for me especially on my 3 years old 250 Ohm Version."

MAN! NOT A CHEAP ALTERNATIVE (price-wise)!

I bought a pair of Jeremy's DTxx0 ear pads but not for a pair of Beyerdynamics. I've had an ongoing project frankenphone that has gone through several iterations. Jeremy actually made me a custom headband for it which is based on M-Audio's Q-40 chassis. I've performed numerous mods and the latest set of drivers I fitted happen to be DT880's. But I was not happy with the Beyer velour pads in terms of sound and I have a pair of Beyer's pleather pads but something seems to be wrong with them which I won't detail here.

So I contacted Jeremy and he sent me a pair. I have to say I am pretty impressed with them. From the start, they were shipped in a cloth bag. Nothing much to it but quite a nice touch. I really liked the look and feel of the pads and the workmanship is top notch. The pads fit a little on the loose side but I can't fault JMoney since I am not using them for what they are intended. I find them to be very comfy and they brought out the sound I was looking for from my frankenphone.

I say, well worth the price and you can count me as one very satisfied customer!!

So it seems that many say that the 600 Ohm dt880's sound better than the ('05) 250 Ohm version. Also now we have these pads which many say really improves the sound of the dt880's (other than the older '03 version apparently based on some comments above). Anyway since I am determined to get a pair of dt880's but stuck on the fence between the 250 and 600 ohm versions, I wonder if I can get the improved sound of the 600's with the easier to drive 250 ohm version by just getting the 250 Ohm version and the J-Money pads??? Anyone want to speculate on that, or better yet give examples from their own experience with these? Do these pads equalize the differences between the two?

I really shouldn't post here but I don't think you understand what I've been telling you so let me make it all clear. I sent your package the day after you sent payment. You said it didn't get to you, I mailed out ANOTHER package yesterday for FREE. I just want you to understand that I did send it already and this is a second package.

Thanks Yossi,

I am posting this again here in case you didn't see the other responses to your other messages in all of my threads.

To the above poster:

I sent you the package the day after you paid, few weeks later, you said that you never received it. In trust, I sent you another package about a week ago from Canada. So, you are now waiting one week for the new package and not one month. I don't see what kind of "lame excuses" that I am giving you. I paid for everything to get you the second package, basically made nothing out of this transaction and you are throwing out these accusations that don't make any sense. At this point, I feel like you need to be more patient, or you gave me the wrong address.

Also, I am not afraid to tell you this. You need to learn to deal with companies that are trying to help you with more respect and class. I make limited amount of money on these products so if you think that I'm out to scam you, then so be it.

erm, patient = still waiting a month after I paid in full? nothing's ever taken a month from canada to california. as for companies, they provide shipping dates and tracking information!

copied post from my MOT thread

hey guys,
I usually tell people that I have shipped the packages or at least tell them when they ask. The reason why I don't provide tracking is because the system is not as advance as the US system in Canada.

In order for me to provide you with a tracking number, I must send via expedited USA (ground) which is the cheapest and costs around $22. This is the cheapest option with tracking by Canada post. I don't even offer this unless people ask for tracking as this isn't an economically sound option for the buyer as I would have to charge them for it.

I state in the payment information email that packages sent to the US are sent via regular airmail without tracking numbers.

People may have troubles receiving packages but it is not my fault. I ship packages everyday and I would not purposely not ship out a package.

@LingLing, you had problems receiving my packages. This is likely a US customs issue and I tried my very best to get the package to you. The reason why I offered to help you was because you sent me calm messages. I feel that my customers should email me if they have problems, before posting on the forums without a prior email stating the problems like what has occurred today. I have not heard from the above poster since I told him I shipped the second package.

Also, even though other packages from all around the world come to you quickly doesn't mean every package will. It is the luck of the draw, they either get checked or they don't.

I hope I have cleared up everything. There is no reason why I would try to scam anyone out of anything.

your emails to me neither gave a clear shipping date, nor a window when to expect delivery. my many emails afterwards only got "it may arrive or not"

that spells SCAM to me
