I haven't been following the production updates, but with such a highly integrated and complex product, I could imagine there being some delays as the troubleshooting process progresses.

It's possible the delay with the review is a product of a delay with the device itself. The review information may not be especially relevant until the product is ready to come to market.

When there is no review, it means:

a) The player blows.
b) It's superb but only believers are deserved to get it with 100$ discounted.

Since the early impressions look positive, I'm leaning toward case b) Caution is a sin... boo!

OR MAYBE THE REVIEWER IS BUSY WITH HIS OWN LIFE!

Makes me want to quit doing all my reviews myself as well...

As the old saying goes, give the man a finger and he'll want the whole hand. Just remember that the human race is quite flawed, and we all have our faults. For everyone 1 person that annoys you, 5 more are saying thank you in the thread. Its just that the negative ones tend to stand out.

Sorry, guys, but my family has been dealing with a very serious family medical crisis--someone very dear to me. It has been ongoing for years, been increasingly serious the last several months, and then took a rather difficult turn (to say the least) in the past couple of weeks.

I won't say any more than that, as I don't typically discuss these types of things online.

That said, I will likely be sending my second part to Fang tonight (not for his approval, but just to make sure I have the specifications I mention accurate). If I have the facts straight, I'll post it soon after.

Actually, I understand the frustration completely. I did lay out a specific timeline, and it's not like any of you could or should have known about anything I'm dealing with outside of Head-Fi.

So to hear that Jude - I knew that something important had to be keeping you away from finishing this. I was trying to hold the fort down and buy you some time.

Yeah sorry to hear that, hope it all works out for the better.

Say stuff like this earlier, people don't nag when it's something serious like that.

When it's a week overdue after being a month overdue (and not a word in between those might I add) you start to wonder what's going on, but if you say that it might be delayed because of personal problems then I'd probably let it go another month or so.

Sorry, I like updates a bit too much.
