has any body tried pair hifiman with full size can under $500 ?? those Ex-top tier can in the past ?

i m interest to know how it performs with K702/k701 , DT880/DT990, HD650, Edition 8/9 (opps,8 is totally over 500) ?? how about its own HE-5 ?

i m very interest to know the max potential and value we can extract out of Hifiman 801 ~ by it self as true portable player of course and non added amp etc

HD800 is probably out of picture, how about T1 ? and grado ?? will grado come out with 50th anniversary headphone ??(not sure, heard some company having 50th anniversary soon but dont know which one)

(thought i should clear it up, what i mean to ask is if any full size can be drive to 80%+ of its potential pair up with hifiman, i certainly dont think HD800 can pump out 80% of its potential just by Hifiman alone)

I have used my HiFiMAN with Senn HD600's. I really like the way they sound with the HiFiMAN, but I do prefer them with the HiFiMAN's output to my headphone amp. I have a Little Country III.

For straight listening from the HiFiMAN I like using my Senn 555's. Those headphones have supprised me because they sound better now that they are burned in. They are also easier to drive, so I can play music really loud with HiFiMAN and the HD555's

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere in the thread (though it's not mentioned on the front page), but are we to expect any further rounds of pre-orders before full retail price is applied? Cheers.

Yes. I have given it a go with my K701's and it's quite impressive. I've also tried it with with the ATH-M50 and the SuperFi 5pro. There's a marked improvement in definition and depth over the iAudio X5 and the X5 paired with the RSA SR-71A. However, it really does make any shortcomings in the quality of the recording readily apparent.

Any news about the second batch? Is there an approximate shipping date?

Is it possible to order it now? 2nd or 3rd batch.....need to get my hand on this!!!

Where did you see the 1st batch op amp is better than what's used in the 2nd batch?
