Fang,

Ok so batch #2 will ship when? Oh right, early December.

Didn't Phyliss Diller have a husband named Fang?

She once stated "We spend the first twelve months of our children's lives teaching them to walk and talk and the next twelve telling them to sit down and shut up."

"6. How will UI be like?
UI will be similar to an ancient ipod. "

I love your honesty.
My RE0's are great, by the way!

The range of the volume control is not much, just a few mm turning of the knob. However, I've never found it difficult to find a position for any songs that I heard often. As long as the mastering of the CD is reasonable, the volume control is definitely OK.

I think the UI of the 801 is pretty intuitive. I asked for the manual because I want to fully utilize my 801. But I managed to play the 801 few minutes after put in the SD card. The quality of the LCD is pretty pleasing to my eyes.

Thanks for the info. I also may use the line out, but it will sometimes also be good to be able to use my iems straight out of the 801.

I think there are still 1st batch owners who are waiting and the reason why Fang is going to send them an extra battery.

Yes she did, fictitious or not. She was verry funny, They still play her on LaughUSA which is a Sirius radio cable station. It keeps me entertained on long drives for business when I get tired of music (a travesty, I know). People driving next to me will just see me driving down the road , cracking up for no reason For some reason they tend to stay away from me.

By the way, just for the record, Fang's name is not pronounced like a vampire's or Rotweiller's teeth, . It is not a long "a" like in sang, it a short "a" pronounced more like "tong" or "mom" or "ah". More like "Fahng".

Just a little tidbit.

Thank You for that as I did wonder. Its not a name I am familiar with. Driving down the road laughing. I've done that, people move out of your way. But it's more likely I've been transformed into the drummer guy from Rush or something and my steering wheel and dashboard is my drum set. Oh c'mon you've all done it...admit it.
But now it kinda voids the Phyliss Diller association. By the way, another quote from her: " Any time three New Yorkers get into a cab without an argument, a bank has just been robbed." lol

Actually the UI of the Hifiman reminds me more of my iRiver-120. Which is good since I never understood how to work ipod/itunes.

Hi Fang,

Has the preorder for the 801 of the 2nd batch re-opened or the 3rd batch opened? My friend has tried my 801 and he is very interested in it. Can he order the 801 with the high-end module? Any pricing info?

Fang mentioned that there's a high-end amp module in the works from them as well as a few amp builders doing their own designs.
