I ordered in July and yet, no notification came. I've even checked junk email folder (just in case). Nothing.

Anyway, thanks for info.

I need explanation. The subject-batch2 is still available for $650 at the head-direct.com main page. Is it mistake?! It was written, that 2nd batch preorder is closed, and 3rd one is already opened.

Could anyone explain customs policy for europe? (Germany and Switzerland specifically)... When delivered to these countries, what customs tax and/or VAT i need to pay? Anyone knows?

i dont know, but receiving it here in the uk should be fun, some nice hefty customs will go on top, i dont know the figures involved, but i believe germany also has duties also from non eu destinations - if you do a search, often there is some online calculator for your country provided via your governments website, where they class goods into bands and you an go from there

Dear head-fiers, please share the information what country are you from and what total taxes (%) have you payed (for HM-801)

Finland. 22% needs to be paid.

TIA.
I tried but but couldn't. Also I tried to reproduce the 85dB output at zero volume knob position by swapping the SD card but couldn't.

I can send my 801 to you for swapping (mine is only three days old and less than 20 hours.) I really want the extra battery. Anybody interested?

Usually it works this way:

Value as stated on the package (or invoice)

plus

some small percentage - customs

plus

VAT of your country on both value+customs

Note that whole amount including customs is subject to VAT. Thus, you'll like paying VAT on customs :-)

Exactly. Usually the small part (not even a percentage here but a fixed figure) the customs claims is very marginal. But basically VAT, which is 22% here.

I would like to bump up the request for making 801s more IEM friendly - by either providing - softare or hardware gain switch or reducing the gain on them ... afterall this is a portable device with 1/8" headphone jack...

PS: Anyone tried them with the flagship 252 iems?

Thanks
Sunil.

I'm sure Fang will make batteries available for purchase in the near future. Seems to me a less confusing option.

My HM-801 arrived!

First impressions: not as big and as heavy as I was expecting. Haven't listed to it yet, though.

Question: is there a manual / user guide available somewhere? I search Head-direct web page and few forums, but I couldn't find any.

Even before that: should the player be on when charged or it really doesn't matter? Or otherwise: should anything happen when the player is OFF and being charged? Maybe screen saying "charging" or something like that?

Thanks!

Nankai,

I received my Hifiman a few days ago, and ther was no coupon included for 20% off HDtracks. How can I receive my HDtracks discount?

Thanks
