Denon AH-C710, AH-C360 and AH-NC600 ANC - Page 7

Well, I am really teed off. I was wondering why I hadn't received a 'dispatched' email yet, so I called Digital Direct and they said they were out of stock, and could order some directly from Denon but it would take 2 weeks???? So I asked why they hadn't bothered to let me know they were out of stock - and he said he 'thought' he emailed me last Friday??? A classic case of where the thought doesn't count...

seriously dont you hate when that happens, last time it happened to me i was so pissed off i cancelled my order and bought immediately from the next shop i could think of, of course 20 min later i realised i could have ordered it cheaper from elsewhere but by then it was a bit late

Yes I DO hate when that happens. I have a real aversion to waiting for anything anyway and patience is definitely not my friend!! Plus I was all excited about getting shiny Denons in the post tomorrow

Just wanted to thank jant71 and average_joe, who both have contributed some great feedback on the Denons. Looking forward to getting mine based on their updates. My guess is these are going to be a very good value canal phone.

I started a review thread. I figured try for a more concise, easy to wade through for reviews/comparisons.

I tried to be neutral/objective. Subjectively I am quite fond of the Denons. I would feel safe to say it would make my all-time top 5 for earphones all things considered.

I will probably need to fill in some things/edit it a bit. I have a bit of a sinus infection. I will throw in a comparison with my CK10 S-adapted version fitted with E2C black silicones. A really high end performer and easily superior to PFE's and superior to Triple.fi's and RE0's and others. Also to my NX-55 which is still, IMO, JVC's second best phone behind the FX500. Great soundstage, PRaT, and very decent headphone-like imaging. Once I am hearing better on my right side I'll get to those.

BTW, I think 150-200 hours of burn-in. IIRC, that was similar to the C700/751. They do keep changing. Glad, cause they went through a bright patch at the 50 hour mark.

I see that BeachAudio has raised the price a few $$ to $100 shipped($93 + $7).

Cool, I will start posting in the other thread. I guess I am in the bright patch right now How long does it last and how much does it come down? I really hope that subsides so they match well with the AMP3, which really sounds crystal clear. However, I now prefer them with my sound card as they are not so bright, but the bass can be very hard hitting (not all that bad of a thing). I guess I just have to keep the burning going.

Waiting for your review.. hoping one of these will be a good upgrade from my lost UE super .fi 3 earphones..

Apologies that I'm a bit behind the curve, but has the C551 been discontinued? If so, which of the headphones in the new lineup is its replacement, if any?

Is there a review or more info on the C360 model?

By the way, these are US sellers (I don't know where you are located).

I think I'm going to order a pair of the noise canceling ones too once they're released. I noted from the specs that the driver is a full 2mm larger than on the C710's... and if the C710's sound this good with the 11.5mm driver, I'm thinking the sound could be even more open and effortless with the NC600's. Plus, with having to go to China several times per year for work, noise canceling is always a welcome perk.

I personally dont believe in the noise canceling "mechanisms" of phones like the NC600, they seem to just make a background noise. But with the 710's being compared to the IE8's and such, how would they hold up to UE 700's or even the triplefi 10's?

I canceled my 710's after the amazon deal, but didnt end up getting the trips either, so now im floating around again.
