SOLD: Exemplar 3910 Full Upgrades and Mods (BIG PRICE DROP)

Up for sale is a heavily moddied John Tucker Exemplar Denon DVD-3910 in black. It is in perfect condition, as I can't find a mark on it except underneath the screws. All of Exemplar's upgrades (except XLR outputs) were done to this unit. According to John Tucker the RCA outputs sound just as good as the XLR’s because they benefit equally from Exemplar's balanced audio circuit upgrade, so the xlr’s are not necessary. All standard functionality is maintained, and everything is installed within the Denon 3910. EXTRA NOS GE tubes are included which are John's favorite. This unit has about 150 to 200 hours of use on it.

I've owned a Audio Research CD-7 and sold that for this model as I enjoyed the Exemplar 3910 more.

• INCLUDES the critical "post-DAC mods" (Post-digital-to-analog converter).
NOTE: Many Exemplar 3910s do not include this essential upgrade

Extra set of NOS GE tubes included for the tube output stage, Siltech internal wiring, upgraded female RCAs, new clock, lots of high end capacitors, etc.
Can use any of the following tubes:
• 5965 , 6829, 7062, E180CC, or CV8431 (direct plug ins)
• Includes Siltech wiring upgrade
• The power supply rectifiers are upgraded
• Several critical caps are replaced with Blackgates
• The AC power input is hardwired§ with upgraded wire, replacing the 3 mechanical connections in the stock unit
• 5 new independent high performance shunt regulators are added to the unit
• The stock clock is replaced with a TENT ENGINEERING re-clocking circuit powered by one of the new shunt regs
• A new active loaded, shunt regulated tube stage is added along with a new set of high performance stereo outputs

Here are some reviews:

Included:
Original box shipped with the Denon from John Tucker
Remote
Power Cord
Extra tubes
Manual

TERMS:
I would like $1675 (big price drop) which includes insurance and you pay for shipping. You can opt to go with USPS, Fedex ground or 2nd day air. It will be double boxed as well. Please cover Paypal fees if they apply. The price is fair and firm.

I have lots of feedback here, Agon, and Ebay. Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to answer them to the best of my knowledge and experience with the unit.

I have been listening to this CD player for about 1 week now (with a GS-1 and CD3000 headphones) and must say this is one of the most musical and involving players I have heard. Built like a tank to boot. Whoever gets this will love it.

I have the Modwright version, but both are amazing and with the right tubes challenge any CD player out there. Free bump on a great player

Thanks robm321. You're right about the Modwright and this player. The tubes that are in this player are favorites of John Tucker who modded the Exemplar players and I can hear why.

If I didn't have an Exemplar 2800, I would have snapped this up in a heartbeat.

People, if you want top gear for CD playback, this is it. The Exemplar 2900 I have is renowned for its redbook capabilities. This unit is an improved version of that.

Go sell a kidney or something. THAT good!

Good luck on the sales. The Exemplar units sound marvelous in redbook playback. I have the 2900 and 5910 and their redbook playback are first rated.
