Not have balanced headphone cable yet but Jack told me "Balanced (XLR) inputs work best for this model. If you use RCA input, the amp will not work in fully balanced mode."

Meaning this amp does not have a phase splitter and does not output a balanced signal from RCA inputs?
I think that would be just stupid...

Wow that is just beautiful man. I'll be ordering my WA22 within a month or so... this picture sort of eases the pain my wallet will be feeling when I order it!

Did you upgrade anything other than the rectifier tube? I was thinking about only upgrading the power tubes (for the 2W output) when I order the amp, then a month or so later, upgrading to a Sophia Princess.

You can use any outputs no matter what input you use. However, the amp will work better with the balanced input.

I don't see how that could be.
Have you experienced a difference in SQ between balanced input and RCA input?

Yes, the Sylvania 7236 NOS 1963 power tubes are used instead of GE 6AS7GA tubes. I also plan to upgrade the driver tubes to be RCA 6SN7 Red Base later. The WA22 does not disappoint me anyway.

i got two pairs of d7000 denons last week, and have been saving for a WA 6SE with all options which i was about to order today, but now that i see this thread of the WA22, im debating if i should get this one instead,
but since im using the common 1/4 jack, should i not get the WA22 and stick to the 6SE loaded, or will the quality still be better on the WA22s 1/4 jack compared to the 6SE....or am i wasting $ if i dont have xlr-balanced headphones?
or should i get the WA22, and then down the road find out how to get my d7000s modded to xlr cables (and also find a splitter since i want ot drive two pairs of headphones at once).
thanks for any advice, i plan on a mix of 80% music and 20% video/movies. if someone can advise me i thank you in advance

I'm curious about how the WA22 sound compare to WA6SE, any comment on this would appreciate because I'm really tempting to swap into a WA22, thanks.

I'm getting the WA22 (once my wallet recovers from the DAC I just bought), and my D7000s aren't balanced yet. I read on these forums that you simply have to re-terminate the D7000s, since the four wires are already there. You can buy an XLR connector for a few bucks I think. It should be very simple.

thanks. i guess i can get the WA22 loaded instead of the WA6SE loaded model ($4xx difference), and then use my two D7000s split a 1/4" splitter on the 1/4" output, and by years end, ship my headphones over to thecablepro.com since he does custom cabling and knows his connectors better than i, and have him switch those 1/4" ends over to xlr ends, and then have him make a xlr splitter for the two d7000s to be used at once, and a xlr extension cable as well.
if a person is using xlr splitter and xlr 15' extension, is it better to split before the extension, or split after the extension?
....now wheres that woo audio coupon on fatwallet....

that's a silly thing to be worried about. the WA22 is a powerhouse

just because other things are more powerful, doesnt make it weak. the Viper has less horsepower than an Enzo - but i'm not concerned that I wont be able to break the speed limit with a Viper
