What type of interconnect cables to use?

I am getting ready to build and buy parts for a CMoy and then a starving student millet, and then a bantamDAC

I was just going to use mini's all over... but seeing as I get to choose, I was wondering if there is any reason I shouldn't?

cables where the channels are separated, (RCA, etc.) should technically be better.. but whether that is audible or not... especially in my meager hardware.. probably makes that point irrelevant.

Are there any other reasons?
Ease of use?

I know from my short recable research that it is easier to get thicker cable into 1\4" jacks

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Mini jacks and plugs are necessarily more delicate than RCAs and 1/4"s, so lifespan could be a factor.

if space and portability isnt a problem, I would recommend RCA or 1/4" over a minijack connection. only problem is that you would obviously have to get all your cables to match and a pair of reasonable RCA connectors is more expensive than a single stereo mini; as is the amount of wire you will need to make those cables. as for crosstalk; it is noticeable on a fairly revealing system; although there is crosstalk already inherent in the design of most sources and amps unless balanced and monoblock, so whether the perceived and real benefits of separating your channels from woe to go is worth the extra cost and trouble is a matter for you to decide.

Thanks for the input

I decided that using RCA connectors would be too annoying.. as I would like to use some of the hardware on it's own sometimes

I am also not sure if a 1/4" jack would be too big or not.
I've decided that I am gonna look into a 1/4" jack, and if it won't work.. then I'll go back to the 1/8"
