Already have Enigma, Vangelis & Mike Oldfield. Any others in this genre/style?

The truly great ones include Andreas Vollenweider, Kitaro, Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Patrick O'Hearn, Amethystium, David Arkenstone, Vas, and Medwyn Goodall.

Check out Buckethead's 'Colma' and 'a real diamond in the rough'. They're guitar oriented but very new age, and excellent.

I'm not deeply into the genre, though I've been meaning to pay more attention for some time. Anyhow, I've been a long time fan of Tangerine Dream. Give them a listen if you haven't.

2002, Liquid Mind, Enya & Deuter are some good starting places for New Age stuff. Blue Stone and Zero 7 are kinda New Age, but more trance/ambient/electronic.

This is to New Age as Fleetwood Mac's Rumors is to classic Rock...........

Karl Jenkins' Adiemus albums are always a big hit. I think I have them all and my wife loves them to pieces. Try the first and second Adiemus albums to start off.

This is so true. I find most other George Winston albums mediocre...
But this one is truly amazing. If it is not his interpretation of Canon in D, I wonder this piece will gain its current popularity. I listened to the original interpretation using period instruments. It was boring as hell... Every single track in this album is breath taking. This is one of those CD I always keep in the car.

I am not a big New Age expert. But, here are a couple of my recommendation.

Jewel Lake
Secret Garden's albums.

William Ackerman, as well as George Winston. They were the founders of Windham Hill Records. Great stuff to listen to with good equipment.

Anything from the Hearts of Space label is worth a listen: they used to be the real innovator in the new-age genre, and their records were immaculately produced. Unfortunately that was before the label was bought by Valley Entertainment and became a mere imprint for generic "soothing" stuff.

The spiritual (no puns intended) successor of Hearts of Space is, I think, the label Spotted Peccary. Haven't been checking out their new stuff, but many of their older releases (e.g. John Flomer's Night in the Vapor Jungle) are as good as new-age music can be.

Another vote for the Hearts of Space label. They've compiled many of their public radio broadcasts as well. Music in the same vein you might be interested in may include stuff from Dead Can Dance, Loreena Mckennit, Deep Forest, and Ray Lynch. I'm always on the look out for good New Age-y type music. Unfortunately there's more bad than good, and even a lot of the good isn't my cup of tea.

I second Tangerine Dream -- my favorite instrumentalist music by far. Rick Wakeman has quite a few good instrumental albums as well. Although he's all over the place stylistically and frequently works with vocalists, so pick and choose carefully.
