Preamp w/headphone... ZD or Woo 5LE

Thread Starter
I am considering simplifying my combo speaker/headphone system by replacing my existing headphone amp and preamp with a single unit that can serve both duties at a high level. Two units of interest to me are the Zana Deux and the Woo 5LE (with optional preamp output jacks). Both of these are unquestionably fine headphone amps and I have read much about them. But, there doesn't seem to be much feedback around here about using these units as a preamp in a speaker-based system. The intent of my post is to inquire about these fine components, and to hopefully gather some opinions on the suitability when used as a preamp driving a power amp. So... if you have Zana Deux or a Woo 5LE and are currently using it to serve as a preamp (in addition to headphone amp, of course), please share your thoughts here about sound quality and comparisons with other components, if possible. Thanks!

The Zana makes a excellant preamp I used mine in my speaker setup,I had a hovland HP100 before (5k) .Not as good as the Hovland ,but not far behind.

Excellant dynamics, bass impact, solid imaging, lost alittle soundstage depth compared to the Hovland & not as holographic but very respectible.

My system is very transparent Piega 8ltd speakers,Emmlabs Cdsd/dac6e
Bel 1001 MK1 amps,Audioquest Everast speaker cables,amazon interconnects.
Exactpower Ep15a/Sp15 powerconditioner.Dedicated line outlets.

For the money you get a excellant preamp headphone amp all rolled into one.A winner in my book.
