Advice: Sell a HE60+HEV70 ?

Hi

I have a HE60 plus it´s HEV70 amp and have a HD600.... my plans are to buy the new HD800 ... , my question is simple: should I sell the electrostatic combo ?
What you would do in my position ? If I sell it I could make some money to compensate the HD800 buy, but , in some sense I will lose this "classic" piece of Sennheiser history.

I'd rather wait until there are more in-depth reviews about the HD800.

I wouldn't sell the HE60 cuz it will be almost impossible to get back if u regret getting rid of it ... sell your car or house instead!

That'd be great if you can afford both buying the HD800 and the HE60.
I'm also waiting for the HD800 to compare with my O2.

I'd hang onto the HE60. They don't come up often and they're wonderful headphones.

If you can afford to own both short term, I would suggest holding onto the HE60, buying the HD800, and listening to them in your own system, and then selling whichever you don't wind up using.

That way you wind up making this decision, but you are safeguarded from selling something you'll just have dreams about later (or not buying something you're having dreams about now )

From HEV70 they arent that spectacular, so, you may want to try some better amp for them first and after that, like rhythmdevils wrote, compare them both, cos you may will be very surprised about their similarities, or not of course...

I have read many posts on this forum of people who regret selling the HE60. Don't let them go without thinking about it very well.

I am sure, as the hev70 = fail.

The real relevant question is how both sound on top tier amps, and balanced to balanced (as stats are usually balanced). Got to make an apples to apples comparison, which I will do with a mini-meet.

No, check that - you need to dump them as fast as you possibly can - I would, being altruistic, offer them a nurturing home... ;-)

the HEV70 isn't as bad as people suggest. it is suitable enough for the HE60. the HE60 will improve with a better amp, but all headphones do that.
