Hi all: which is better, Sennheiser IE8 or Ulimate Ears 10 (in your opinion of course)? Currently looking to get a pair of, but can't decide which, and it would be great if you can explain the pro and cons of the two if you know...many thanks

If u refering to triple.fi10pro, have a look here.
I personally like TF10P over IE8. If u like warm and fun IEM, IE8 will suit u more. |

btw, would an headphone amp enhance the sound quality of the ck100, ie8 or triple fi 10p (using cowon s9 as its source)? thanks again

I have them both, and they are both great, but I kind of like the triple.fi a little better.
Both are rich and have wonderful sound stage.

Thanks alot for the link it's very helpful. from what I read ck100 sounds like the winner as an all-arounder.

^^ other than that they are pretty massively different IEMs really. the IE8 is syrupy and warm and the TF10 is wide, deep and a touch peaky (IMO). I didnt like the TF10, FWIR the IE7 are the more balanced and superior to IE8 and not so dominated by the BASS!!!

i´ve had both (still have the IE8) and i chose the IE8 not becuase of sound quality, but becuase of comfort issues, the Triple.fi are awefull, and the cable is so stiff,
the triple.fi 10 has better highs, slightly (VERY SLIGHTLY) better detail and better instrument separation, midrange and lows are better on the IE8, comfort is won by the IE8 by a mile, and the cable on the IE8, at first it looks a bit flimsy, but then you realize its quite strong and stable, isolation is a bit better on the triple.fi, but that depends on fit, which i could never get with the triples,
if i had to choose again between them, i would still choose the IE8,
another thing to take in to account is that logitech is reorginizing the ultimate ears product line at the moment, so we might be looking at the twilight of UE´s high end,

hmm wierd, most seem to be picking the triples over the IE8
i cannot say i was expecting that at all

very interesting...sounds like the sennheiser cx400 vs cx500, if that's really the case then I think IE7 definitively is the winner or IE8

I have the ie7 and the sound stage just wows me. I also have the CX500, the bass and high are similar to the ie7, but its nowhere close on the soundstage and musical separation. The emotional vocal is also much better than the CX500. But I have to say the CX500 is a better deal now when you consider you can get them around $50.
