Yeah I got the M9P during a sale as well for like $22 w/S&H, seems they're back up to $30 or $35 now but even at that price I'd say they're worth it... Luckily Newegg (and Buy.com I think?) have them in stock for $23 right now. Seems everyone, including MEElec themselves, was out of the black version for a while but they're back out there.
The hard case is pretty nifty, glad mine came with it, great case to put 'em in before tossing 'em into a bag rather than the pouch I was using (which I still use when I have 'em on a jacket or pocket or w/e). I'm using them w/an HTC EVO Android phone and the mic/button works very well, even brings up the music player when pressed, etc. Great value, very happy.
