Null Audio sends them to UM. I do not know about the extra driver, I am sorry. Mine only have 3 drivers from the TF10. Still working up a review.

Sorry if this has been asked before. But i'm using a mobile phone and it would be too slow to read every page of this thread.
Has anyone tried this custom reshelling on a um3x? Does it make it like a es3x then? Since they probably use the same drivers, crossover and all. If there are impressions can someone link me to it please? Thanks alot |

The UM3X and the ES3X, share the same driver and the same crossover point (Not the same crossover). If you get the Um3X custom molded by UM, it will not sound the same as the ES3X cause of the wiring, filters etc..

This is a question I've been wondering about for some time. Could you elaborate a little bit on the difference with the wiring/filters? It's been hard to get specific technical information about the differences...
I noticed someone mentioned earlier that the customized triple.fi doesn't have a circuit board for the cross-over, whereas JH's and the ES3X does. Right now, I'm leaning more towards trying to find a used triple.fi for around $200 and getting that re-molded. I'm a little unsure whether it would be better than the JH5, though. |

.... I've read the custom UE cable is a bad choice for the Triple.fis......

I use UE custom cable on one of my (un-customed) Triple.Fi -sounds superb! Have Null Lune on my other pair.
Great sense of almost 3D imaging & soundstage on some recordings (trance stuff, for example, shines with this setup). The pins don't fit flush as stock but of course this wouldn't be a problem if you have them re-shelled. I have 2 UE cables - old custom, thick & wrapped, great sound; and new, braided, silver -much lighter & as flexible as Westone but tbh don't know if it has the edge in SQ over the old....so far I prefer the UE custom cable over the Lune, but need to do more comparing (kind of ignored the Lune after I got the UE). |

what do you mean? As far as customs, they are made from impressions of your ear. Usually they are a perfect fit, there are sometimes when Manufacturers smooth the canal part a bit too much and some find it too loose. But that happens to all manufacturers, if you're wondering about this problem. Don't worry about it, there's a risk for ever manufacturer.
