Some general questions about the RE2 - Page 2

Question, is there a burn in period for amps? Because I swear the E5's weakens the sound right now. The highs are less detailed than before with my Denon 1001. With no significant improvements otherwise, and I'm using the non-bass boost mode.

Macbug, pictures coming after my test tomorrow. Gonna hammer down some more free Natty and go to bed.

I don't think it's gonna look very different from that if there is no defect...

As for the amplifier itself I'm still not entirely sure I hear that much of a difference (aside from bass boost, but even then is that not something you could duplicate with a built in EQ?), but in my case I need a proper media player first.

Ok, for that "exposed spot"

sorry, not very good camera and shaky hand don't result in the sharpest image.

IS THIS NORMAL?

I can barely make out the spring. Where are the wire?

It's that white dot up front. Maybe it should be there. I just don't really know what it is. It feels like a button but it's not in the manual...

Those are there to hold the plastic housing in place so it won't slide out of the metal housing.

Thanks!

Ok I got a question for you guys now, do you really hear anything with bass boost? I can't really tell, on top of that even though the EQ slider is supposed to either click in bass boost or normal mode, when you put it half way the sound changes significantly almost like its louder or there's some treble boost and the singer's voice comes much closer to my head??

I'm thinking that my E5 is slightly defective after browsing more of hte E5 thread, as in when the switch is actually in the middle it's actually the normal EQ mode which boosts the treble and explains what I'm hearing, where as on both ends of the switch it actually is in the bass mode which is why I could never tell the difference between the two and the highs are slightly ... veiled?

Nevermind, I measured the frequency response of each mode today and the graph is pretty much what I expect from what ClieOS posted in his reviews, the "center" section looks like it's just doing a +3db boost with some additional distortion? I guess I'm just not really hearing the difference until I can really do a left / right ear comparison
