I am looking to sell one of the recently released, and very well regarded, y1 DACs (aka Gamma-1). This is one of two of these terrific little DACs that I built as part of an Australian group buy. I am keeping the other one as my one of my desktop DACs.
What is it?
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the y1 DAC, here is a bit of information. The y1 DAC was designed by AMB and MisterX. It is a transportable DAC with mini USB, RCA coaxial and toslink optical S/PDIF inputs. The inputs are selectable via a very sexy looking mini illuminated toggle switch on the front of the DAC. Audio output is via a 1/8" (3.5mm) mini jack. The DAC can be powered by either USB or a 5V DC wall wart (power adapter). This clever little y1 DAC allows you to use USB power while using any of the other inuts, which is pretty neat.
How does it perform?
Here is a link to the specifications and measurements on AMB's website (select 'Specifications' from the left panel.
This build includes...
This unit is the full build (USB, RCA and optical S/PDIF inputs) using the parts specified in AMB's recommended bill-of-materials, including the audiophile quality Silmic II ouput capacitors bypassed by WIMA capacitors. This all fits into a little black hammond 1455C801 aliminium case (80x54x23mm), which is about the width and length of a credit card. I have fitted the professionally made faceplates from AMB. This build also an update to one of the resistors (R20D) as recommended by AMB and MisterX.

Additional Items
If the buyer wants them, I will include an uninstalled set of Black Gate NX 6.3V 47uF capacitors.
Competing Products
There appears to be no other DACs competing in the same combined classes of size, performance, flexibility and cost as this great little DAC.
Cost
I am looking for $Sold (This is less than the cost to build one of these in Australia. There are a number of components that are unavailable locally and must be imported).
Postage
Postage to an Australian buyer will cost $10 for express post. I can provide indicative prices on international postage as required.
