got an email about the prototype. Website for it is up now.
In his email he also asked for suggestions for naming the amp, so if you have one drop the Woo guys a line

WES Electrostatic Headphone Amplifier

What do you guys think?

"WES - WooAudio Electrostatic Headphone Amplifiier
WES is an uncompromised design, featuring EL34, 6SL7, and 5AR4/5U4GB rectifier.
All-triode drive, fully balanced. Two units design - AMP unit and Power Supply unit
Innovative stackable chassis with exposed tubes.
Prototype shown - release date and price to be determined"

Wow that is beautiful. This amp is much better looking than the A-10

Much better choice of tubes than the A-10 too.

Lots of power and lots of gain and even a tube rectified power supply .... that is sweet.

I agree. Very clean and understated, without the need for multicolored bling. And I love the way the rectifier tubes are positioned and protected.

Collectively, Woo amps simply *cannot* be beaten for looks.

I'll have to trust you on that one

Will this make an appearance at canjam?

I really don't like how it looks, compared to the other Woos. But I agree, it is more attractive than the A-10. Not a fan of how RSA looks.

Wow, I like what I see so far.

Dare I say, I'd like to see the view from the back side of this beauty?

Can't wait to see some impressions...

No auditions yet? Having more quality stat amps will bring converts.

It is a good time to be an electrostat owner. That new Woo would look stunning in a champagne finish. It'll be great to read comparisons between it and the Headamp BHSE from O2 owners.

Some interesting developments, indeed.

I'd have to agree. I'm looking forward to my SRS-005 system arriving this week. I thought it would be a good intro in electrostatics. (I've listened to O2's through Jack's GES at a meet and was impressed.)

I've always been a fan of Jack's work and the WES is no exception. Simply stunning. I'm anxiously waiting to see the price.

Wild speculation: cheaper than the BHSE stock, more expensive with Woo's usual upgrade packages
