I just made the payment for one DAC19Mk3 in Mode B. Can't wait to test it.

In the case of me、

ordered.

These about three weeks were felt very long for me.

I placed my order on May 5. Presumably they will be able to crank them out faster once the initial manufacturing process is refined.

Don't forget that they put 100 hours burn-in/ testing before shipping. These are all made to order as well.

You took the DF1704 over the PMD100.... I ordered mine "Mode A" reading from a few places that the PMD100 is alot better overall sounding. Ahh well suppose everyone is different

Could you give me some links which say that PMD100 is superior? I just don't need the HDCD decode function so I thought that Mode B is better. It's also nice that it accepts signal up to 96khz. Is it possible to order both of them and just switch them? How are they socketed?

For an additional $30, you can order the extra filter module and have both Mode A and B (although not at the same time). That way, you would have the ability to hear them both and form your own opinion.

The filter modules are not designed to be changed back and forth on a regular basis (they are mounted on small circuit boards screwed down). If you look at the picture below, the filter module is the small board on the right with the HDCD chip.

I ordered both filter modules for my unit. My plan is to use the PMD100 until enough of my music is at least 96KHz, at which point I'll switch over to the DF1704. At the rate I'm going (only about 20 of the 8,000 songs I have today are 96KHz) it will be years before I make that change, but it's nice to know the DAC will be somewhat future-proof in the event that high sample rate music takes off.

Well it says right there within the Audio-gd page that the PMD100 is better sounding....

Listening Comparison Of Digital Audio Filters

Here also is a fairly in depth comparison of the filter's

Oh they are letting people buy both mode's, it's just 4 screw's and a plugged socket to change out the mode.

I only listen to normal cd's via 16bit 44.1khz so i dont see a point in buying the other mode.

Thanks for the link. It's only one review and in the end it even says that some reviewers have preferred DF1704. But it also says that DF1704 has more hifi sound and that is definitely not what I'm looking for. Based on that comparison, Mode A is the way to go. I also browsed my FLAC-collection and noticed that I have zero 96khz albums there.

I'll e-mail Audio-GD to switch my order to Mode A. I can later order the DF1704 if I feel need for it.

EDIT:

The same reviewer prefers PMD200 over PMD100 ("vastly better") but Kingwa says that PMD100 is better. I wonder if PMD200 can be used in DAC19Mk3?
