Free Headphones! - Page 3

Don't any of you think it's immoral to take advantage of a mistake made by a retailer?
You know they are not free, but yet you order them and half of you are making threats if they don't follow through on honoring what is a mistake.
my threats are purely tongue in cheek, I assure you....and seriously, how many times have you been ripped off? If never, then that is good for you. If they were to call me and be nice about it, I will not pursue it, if they call me and are prickish about then I may not be so forgiving! If nothing else, we all ordered something from a site that many of us have never heard of before and one that I will use again, they actually have some good deals (not including free headphones). So morality is not really a concern, this is not like I am ripping off an individual, this company does not even make the headphones.
It will be interesting to see their response and we will all share our experiences.
As the saying goes "it was fun while it lasted!"

just received an email from paypal that the order was cancelled. I did manage to print out my confirmation and receipt from techdepot before they made it all disappear, like I had never been there!
oh well!

some Finnish site a couple years ago had a pricing error making xbox 360s like somewhere around 35 euros

they honored their pricing mistake from what i heard

Looks like it canceled, not really interested in following it up. Oh well.

Haven't canceled mine yet, I don't expect them to honor the mistake, I was merely pointing out that they too could take advantage of us, and if they do I will be pissed. They should either send the whole order, or cancel the whole order.

I would more expect them to be like:
"We're sorry, the following items are no longer available and have been removed from your order. "
and then give you a partial refund.

We could always file a lass action violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2002:
Class proceedings

8. (1) A consumer may commence a proceeding on behalf of members of a class under the Class Proceedings Act, 1992 or may become a member of a class in such a proceeding in respect of a dispute arising out of a consumer agreement despite any term or acknowledgment in the consumer agreement or a related agreement that purports to prevent or has the effect of preventing the consumer from commencing or becoming a member of a class proceeding. 2002, c. 30, Sched. A, s. 8 (1).
Sections 14.1 and 14.2 discuss false, and misleading practises...
meh...I think I am just grumpy today and should just let this go. They do donate part of their profits to Breast Cancer research.

I would read this, ... very interesting >>

Must this retailer honor this price error from their website?

Off course the fact that they have this disclaimer >
"All content on this website has been subjected to very strict controls to ensure accuracy. If at any time the information provided is incorrect in any manner,TechDepot Canada reserves the right to make those corrections and will not be held responsible or liable. We reserve the right to reject any orders placed based on incorrect information. "...

at the bottom of the website..Means you have probably have no recourse.

Also, I imagine the mods will make you remove it soon. I remember someone was forced to change their avatar because they had a picture of jesus giving a thumbs up

That's good and all but the reason all these companies donate a very small portion of *your* money to charity is a propaganda stunt to make them look good so that they will hopefully get you as a preferred customer. I know that is cynical but that is the main reason companies advertise that they donate to a charity.

As for morals brought up above. It's a dog-eat-dog world.

I once bought an Olympus digital camera from a web-store that lowered the price to $700.00 CAD when other stores where still selling it for $1200.00 CAD. Don't know if that was a mistake or not though but it sure was a bargain at the time. Considering it was only 2.1mp though it is no bargain by today's standards for a DC.

It's not my fault if you lack a sense of humour and I doubt it is pissing anyone off except you.

p.s. There, it is fixed because I don't want to offend your sensitive sensibilities.
