Just to butt in..  The Fuze has an equalizer with 10 settings  mostly for music genres. I normally use it at work for background music with economy behind-the-ear phones.  With my HD238 phones, it sounds clean, but too mellow.  That seems to be coloration from the phones.

 

I don't get paying for or building a dock since I assume most people must have a computer to transfer music files and that computer can do everything the Fuze can do and more.  But that is just me.

Most reviews say the Fuze sounds best with the EQ off.

 

A dock makes a good charging/playing stand.
