Been playing around with HDCD.exe and find this really bizarre... reproducible over two albums... when playing back the decoded WAV the pitch is a couple of cents lower... tempo seems to stay uniform...

I can reproduce this with a HDCD DAC using the PMD100 filter (haven't tried my other one with PMD200...) where if I, say, bugger with the equalizer slightly in iTunes in order to modify the bitstream thus defeating HDCD decoding... HDCD light goes on - pitch lowers a few cents, light goes off, pitch raises a few cents...

HDCD Decoding attenuates signal by 6dB. Search "hdcd attenuation." Pitch should not change.

Am totally aware and have level matched in my comparisons to compensate.
