Retrieving files from an old hard drive..?

Well...I got my Dell Studio 15 a month ago, I had data on the disk, but I had a login for my computer...
I got a Blue Screen of Death and got the replacement HD from Dell on Friday. I got an eSata enclosure I ordered from ebay in the mail today and put the old hard drive in.
How can I retrieve the old files, even though they were on a password-required login? any programs I can use...?

Here is a quick guide on how to take ownership of files and folders. This is useful in your case. You can also google the "take ownership of files" and find other guides, this is a fairly common thing.

Also note with the Dell Studio laptops the BSOD issue is often related to a bad webcam driver. Please download the latest version from Dell's website.

Clone the old HD to a HD which has been formatted with FAT. You can do this with a program called xxclone. I'm sure there are many other options as well.
