Brand new Cowon S9 wont boot.

Got my Cowon 2 weeks ago, love it. Week ago I updated to 2.10 beta firmware, didn't have any problems.

Today I was pressing the next track button and it just died, with at least 80% charge left. Now it won't boot at all. Plugging the USB cable into my computer doesn't seem to have any response, the Cowon doesn't charge and the computer doesn't see it.

Will the reset button even do anything when it's not powered? What can I do? I don't have the music library on the player backed up.

Isn't there a button/combination with buttons to restart it? I'm sure that every player have something similar to this. On my old iPod, it worked even if the batery was almost empty.

I can't find the manual. I don't know what combination it would be.

I don't mean to rub it in, but how do you not have the library bakced up? These files came from a computer--did you delete them after you loaded them onto the S9?

The reset button worked, and it didn't wipe my library.

this thread helped ressurect my s9!

i've registered with this forum after reading this thread, to express my gratitude. i thought i had bricked it my s9 once and for all after buying one a couple of months old on ebay, so basically i was thinking i was gonna be out the 100 odd quid this had cost me.

reading this thread made me aware of the reset button, which worked like a charm without even wiping the media i had copied onto the device. (yeah i know i could have read the manual, but i'm a bloke!)

so, many thanks to you folks, you've saved me and my s9 a lot of grief!!!
