IC: Calgary, Alberta

Who likes to rock the party?

It's been a while since we had a head-fi get-together in Alberta, so let's try this again. I'm based in Calgary until the end of the summer, so that's my bias for this meet. We've already had a few in Edmonton, but we haven't had one in Calgary yet to my knowledge. Who's in?

We could still very well do an Edmonton meet after summer. I just wanted to meet in Calgary since we've already had a few in Edmonton. The date isn't set yet, so we'll see how it will fit with everyone's schedules and availability. I'm new to Calgary, so if anyone could point me to a place worth booking for the meet, give me a shout. Right off the bat, I think the university might have some cheap rooms for rent. We'll see how that will accommodate us.

Cool beans. mb3k also PM'd me and said he'd be down for it, but we have yet to hammer out a date. I'm fairly flexible, but that seems to be the first order of business. I prefer July or August, whichever gets more people coming out. Summer is tricky with people vacationing, so we can play around with the date until we find the best fit. There's still some time yet.

Yeah if the days are right I'm in, I'm also in Calgary, unfortunately I have odd days off Mondays and Wednesdays, I'm booked every other day with classes and work so I'll have to see.

It's cool to see some interest around here. Score!

I suppose we could go to Red Deer, but I want to do it in Calgary. I've seen way more interest from Calgarians than from anyone else in Alberta, so I think it's more than fair to have the meet in Calgary, especially considering we've already had a few Edmonton meets with Calgarians present.

I guess I should start looking for a venue to hold the event. I know the U of C's MacEwan centre rents rooms for events, but I'll have to check it out and see what kind of rooms we're talking about. Plus, I'd need a rough estimate for attendance before booking anything. We'll see what kind of crowd we can muster. Let's see if we can't make this Alberta's biggest head-fi meet!

Red Deer part was a joke. No problems going to Calgary. I'd imagine this will be a weekend meet, right? The further in advance you post the date the better my chances are of attending...
