I wouldn't hold my breath, implementation plays a MUCH larger role the quality of a DAC than just the chip.

When you're considering the ES9008 to ES9018, that's just a tossup between the top end Ferrari and top end Lamborghini.

i'm not saying it'll be a night & day difference, but from all that i've read so far, the 32 is better sounding...

i'll, of course, withhold judgment until i've heard it (i've heard the old one & it was superb)...

but it'd be silly to buy an old one without hearing the new one...i mean, from a resale value standpoint alone...

maybe he's swimming in it and could care less...

I have a latest generation HeadRoom Max with DAC and stepped pot for sale (link in sig). The best way to learn about the amp would be through the HeadRoom website and the amp costs $3500 when new. I did a serious amount of research and listening at meets before I made the decision to buy the amp and it is pure bliss listening to the amp.
