Did you know my K1000 #1378 used to be Smeggy's ? I'll have them at the meet too, and I would agree they are the no so great sounding ones.

HFA Is there such a thing as a standard pin-out for XLR audio. Google searches are not quite conclusive

Will you bringing the EF-2? I was hoping to get a listen. I know you'll be schlepping alot of gear but if you could slip it in a box, I'd appreciate it. I recabled the Fostex T50RP's balanced with some star quad in case anyone wants listen to an inexpensive ortho.

The Balanced EHHA will be there (planning on having it cased so HA will listen to it!)

I am interested to see what namaanf and sherwood think. Perhaps ericj and asr too. Wonder if it will convince namaanf to build one

Also on loan for the meet are Sundrop66' SRM-T1 and Lambda Signatures, and Smeggy's K1000.

and the DacMagic is defiintely gone...

Thanks,

Bill
The K1000 - As if there weren't already enough great reasons to attend.

My beautiful face was enough. The rest is to pass the time while I'm not looking at you.

Yes. I corrected the amp list where I still had the EF1 listed, and now it shows the EF2.

I might be persuaded to listen to it unboxed, but there just something about a DIY amp in the nude that doesn't turn me on.

Boomy,

PM me and I will send you some links I've collected on Balanced conections while building the EHHA.

I'm not sure if I can be there, but if I were there, I would bring UE11Pro

Key info for the meet!

(1) Meet setup is at 8:30 AM and breakdown has to start at 6 PM. No one *needs* to arrive early for setup though unless they want to, and we'll have to clear the room by 7 PM. Volunteers will be helpful for breakdown.

(2) Everyone should bring enough power equipment for their own gear, and bring as much gear as you want to - there's plenty of space.

(3) Cash donations would be highly appreciated - although there's no entry fee, this event didn't exactly cost $0 to put together.

(4) An even bigger regional Head-Fi meet will be coming up on October 2-4 at the same location as this year's Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. Plan now to attend! More info here: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f11/he...ficial-432237/

(5) The Colorado Summer Meets will continue next year! Neither date or location have been determined, so just keep an eye here in the Meets forum for the info early in 2010!

We'll have more updates to add early next week.

8.30 AM, good lord that's early!

Couple of questions to throw out there..

I have some Stax - SR40's and a SRD-4, that I've used once, picked them up about a year ago now, if I bring them will anyone have an amp that can power them?

I have a small item (maybe 2) I'd like to put in as a giveaway, but only for members with shall we say, modest gear. Would that be ok? I just dont see the point of giving the item (s?) to someone with LOADS of gear.

Actually I have a few little bits and bobs that I don't really use or need, I'll bring them with me and if anyone's interested, we can work something out maybe.

Yeah, absolutely I will, Craig. My plan is to have two speaker amps there. Your Stax rig can tag off mine.

Great idea, Craig. I might bring a few trinkets as well. Help encourage the new guys, you know.
