Why would it be cancelled? The W3 is the consumer brand and the UM3X is for musicians and music professionals.

The W3's still lead their website...for crying out loud they were only released this past December. Please read their website for more details.

A friend from local forum bought this UM3x and reviewed it. He said that although it has a high impedance for IEM, but it can be used unamped with no problem. Maybe because UM3x has high sensitivity.

Don't worry. the UM3Xs are VERY EASY to drive. Can be use with any DAP efficiently, IMHO.

They're actually quite efficient despite their ohm rating. I find 1/2 way on my Touch v2 to be plenty loud.

I've ordered a W3 and now i'm Thinking Of Changing it for a UMX3, cos all i've been reading all dough i haven't hear them yet.

Some one has tried or has both of them?

It comes down to preference; UM3X has slightly more sparkle and less midbass push. It depends on what music you listen to and how you like your sound.

At RMAF 4 weeks ago I compared the W3 to the UM3X (with Complys tips since I lost my W3/UM56) and while both are very good I ended up getting another W3. I have the ES3X and didn't feel that I needed the UM3X too. I think the W3 are still very good, and a nice change from my custom IEM sometimes.

I Listen to Electronic, Indie Rock/Folk, Jazz, Trip Hop, Classical... As you can see i listen to almost any gender. So i'm concern on which one is the " Best " for all purpose.

I personally find the UM3X to have an edge in terms of detail and balance. You can safely listen to about anything on the UM3X although you won't get truly visceral bass for certain genres like hiphop (not that you really will with the W3). Balance boils down to personal preference but I like the UM3X's tighter bass a bit more.

I've all ready send unopened the W3 For an exchange on the UM3. Im searching for a god amp. to go with it, any suggestion?

Well, I've heard the ibasso D10 being the most popular as it is highly customizable. Also heard recommendations of a few others for the RSA shadow (i don't think you can go far wrong with RSA amps) and somebody using the Xin Supermicro i think.

Oh and some people hear a larger soundstage with the W3s. I personally didn't find a substancial difference. But yea, that's the UM3X's achilles heel (the smallish soundstage on some songs) which an amp could fix i think.

I've been reading on the iBasso and there the most attractive to me at the moment. been on their site and they have sold out! that say's a lot. ( Not the D10 that are more expensive )
