Westone UM3X announced! - Page 33

Hmm so mine should go out today, too...I was literally one of their first preorders on this...

I also e-mailed Westone hoping they will send me a fit kit. Let's hope so. I'm not worried about the Comply's working or not but they don't tend to last long and being able to find the best fit for each person is important, imo.

The UM Series only comes with minimal tips because that is what musician's need. If we sent them a huge fit kit and stuff we'd be hearing about it from them.

Remember UM = Universal Monitor (AKA built for stage use).

I understand the UM3x's are geared toward a different market segment, but do you mean musicians would complain about having extra tips? How huge are we talking here? I can hide the W3 "fit kit" in a single fist...

Anyways, this non-stage-musician can't wait for the reviews to start rolling in...

Nice, [J]-ohn is and will be testing it. Will be interesting since he owned CK100 too.

Thanks for the reply Powderhound. While I can now understand the reasoning I still feel additional tips would be beneficial if people would like them, and should be included within the cost. Hopefully Westone will be kind to me and send me some extra tips as requested, but if not I'll either try and find some to fit them or maybe buy some. It would be a bummer to have to shell out some more cash for some though.

edit: got a response from Westone, unfortunately they wouldn't send me a free fit kit. I decided to order one, despite the steep price of it at 24.99 or so. It'd be a waste to spend $400 on earphones to only have Comply tips imo.

Zalithian, did you know what was included with the UM3X when you ordered them?
I did read only the Comply's were included before ordering. It's unfortunate but what can you do.

I can understand their reasoning and I understand from their response in an e-mail as well, although I still feel the fit kit is overpriced and should come standard with a higher price, or possibly offer two different versions - one cheaper version without the kit, and a more expensive one with it factored into the price.

I can understand what you say, but if it is 20.00 cheaper than the W3's that's OK with me.
Mine shipped today also.

Wow! How will you get it so quick? I might pay $400 for IEM's but I'll never pay another $30 to get it earlier when it's free for 3 day shipping

I did not get mine yet. Just received email from earphone solutions that it was shipped. And mine is coming by snail mail, which is OK with me
