Westone UM3X announced! - Page 31

Yes, in an earlier post in this thread, powerhound stated that the UMX3 uses exactly the same shell as the UM2. Hopefully the UMX3 will thus inherit the famous comfort and seal of the UM2 that most have had great success with.

if you havent sorted this out by the time I can help; i'll be selling mine once my ES3X arrive. I expect to be buying my customs in a few weeks, so will only have the UM3X for a couple of weeks ad mine will be being sent out the week after release. so could send you mine to borrow while I list them in the FS area. or let you have them for a week and then list them, because likely they will sell pretty quick so close to the release date and so new.

likely you will have sorted it by then, but the offer is there

Yeah I would certainly be interested in a temporary UM3X for Westone 3 trade - just so each of us could see how the sound compares. We'll see what happens. I'll be going to the bank today to deposit the money and place the order with overnight shipping - so I would guess I would get my pair friday?

Also, extra tips - Is there a UM2 fit kit or something or just some other tips that worked well with the UM2 I could buy for the UM3X?

Any tips that work on Shure SE series will work on W3, UM3X, UM2 and UM1.

the german shop mp4audio.de announced it for 27.4 but it is delayed until the 5.5

I'm ready to order them. Is there still a deal on EarphoneSolutions with cashback or a rebate or something? I e-mailed them but no response yet. Also, any specially suggested tips? I think I can probably use my SE210 tips with them since I still have the bag but can't hurt to have lots of tip options.

^ Make sure you do a comparison with the PFEs. I'd really like to know how they compare.

I must admit I'm very curious to see what the UM3X's sound like with the (Shure?) soft grey silicone tips that came with the W3's - unfortunately these are not included & have to be purchased separately. In my case I found all other tips very uncomfortable.

Will do. Wish I had a good amp to pair with my pfe's though to make it a bit more fair

My UM2's always sounded best with Shure Olives. I plan to also use them with the UM2X since the design and nozzle is identical.

I have multiple pairs of Shure olives still so I should be able to test out nearly all the SE210 tips with them. I am quite puzzled as to why the UM3X only comes with Comply's though.

I personally always seem to end up with olives or complys so it doesn't bother me but yea, you are right, a fit kit of tips probably cost them $10 and when you are paying $379....please....give us a break.
