I am offering for sale a PACKAGE including Sennheiser HE90 headphones, a Singlepower ES-1, along with a stock of tubes and adaptors and worldwide express shipping for all items at a cost of $10,000. I do not want to divide up any of the components of this sale.
Some background information on all of the components in the package:
The ES-1 was Mikhaels personal ES-1 which he used for meets, so he made sure it was perfect. It is the exact unit that garnered the incredible praise from Stereo Times in late 2006.
This Singlepower ES-1 is maxed out (with the exception of V-caps used instead of Audio Note caps) - which sound much better as I compared two units side by side with Mikhail in Denver; one with V-caps one with Audio Note caps- and both of us agreed V-caps were better- by far; - detailed with a magical tone that was missing with the Audio Notes. My cost (close to two years ago) - $10,265 including shipping. It includes the new upgraded circuit and the laboratory grade internal volt meter installed; -exactly the same as the one on the ES-2.
I have played around with serious tube rolling for months and these tubes are the best to my ears regardless of headphones. Mikhail agrees completely; - we have almost exact taste in sonics. The following tubes are included in the package:
1. (4) 6SN7W short bottle tubes My cost: $520 (center stage)
2. (6) 6SN7W metal base tall tubes My cost: $1,100 (center or gain stage)
3. (20) 6GBL7 tubes My cost: $200 (gain or center stage).
4. (8) GE Fat Boy power tubes: My cost: $800
5. (4) 12bz7 input tubes cryogenically treated. My cost: $100- Incredible punch
6. (2) ECC1 imput adaptors to allow use of 20 different kinds of tubes. My cost: $200
All tubes are NOS minus a maximum of 10% usage and all were bought from e bay from sellers that had tested the tubes and who had perfect or near perfect feedback.
The unit has a few scratches on it here and there which it came with when I purchased it- nothing serious and really unnoticeable unless you are looking for them. My HE90 Orpheus headphone is included in the package as well and is in excellent condition. Physically it is 8.5 due to minor minor wear on the headband. Sonically it is a 10. It’s serial number 00323. The original cardboard box and wooden case are included with all original paperwork. This unit was manufactured in 2005 and has never been re-cabled.
