Ultrasone Zino

edit: deleting lots of useless stuff and redoing it.

Thanks Tyler_RMC for informing us that he checked with Ultrasone for an ETA on 4/06/09 and they responded to him an ETA around June. BUT there has been no official ETA so it may be later than June.

zino02 is accessible but as of 4/08/9 most of the links don't work yet.

Thanks Jaska for figuring out how to get the pics off their website and making this nice group of all the pictures on their website. Hope you don't mind me posting it at the threadstart.

Semi-closed Zino will have good isolation unlike the semi-open iCans which literally sound as loud outside as inside making it unusable in many public situations (I'm researching soundproof hoodies now, and hell, I'll need something to keep people from seeing the bling-bling iCans lol). I'm very excited over the Zino since Ultrasone did such a fine job on the HFI-x80's, and I really look forward to seeing the new OFC cable and slim-plug and hard case, not to forget to see whether the Zino will have a unique design may explain why they've kept it hidden like this.

Neither the Ultrasone amp H-101 or the Zino have a release date, so maybe it'll come months from now or (especially in the case of the $1399 amp) maybe just get shelved .

No, the Nuforce UF-30 look to be very similar to the iCans, maybe the same thing just rebranded. I can see the little holes at the bottom of the white UF-30, obviously a rebranded iCans. What's that thing to the right of the red UF-30? That's a new color and if that thing to the right isn't something from the background, the red UF-30 aren't just rebranded iCans.

On my list, but I'm still in love with my PRO 750's for now.

Guys, I checked with Ultrasone today for an ETA on the Zinos. I'm hearing June at the moment, should hopefully have some pics to put up for them soon.

The Nuforce UF-30 is being redesigned before it was ever released, based on beta tester feedback on where it could be improved and where it was good. I suspect the final Nuforce product will be more like the Zino than the first iteration. There were definitely differences and similarities between the UF-30 and iCans, as another OEM project with it's own characteristics as picked by the Nuforce design team.

Except the drivers are not offsetted like the icans / zino?

member1982, they all have s-logic, Zino might even have s-logic plus (doesn't specify in the specs I posted at the start of the thread).

WONDERFUL NEWS!

I have been obsession compulsive and bookmarked a nonexistent page http://zino.ultrasone.com/ and what a wonderful surprise it was this morning to see it came into existence. Pics in the start of the thread now. Keep in mind 80% of the new website is nonfunctional, and apparently they have put iCans specs up instead of Zino specs (you can tell because it mentions an iCan solid box when the Zino has a sweet curvy hardcase).

woot!
wow not much difference huh... the headband looks like still gonna be uncomfortable like the icans :P

so the nuforce is made by ultrasone?

The bending probably is improved. Less prone to breakage :P

I really don't know why people have said the iCans are uncomfortable, it is extremely comfortable and light as a feather. It touches so softly on my ears I could wear it forever and I can't even feel the headband because of my hair. I also disagree with people saying it won't stay on your head, if you squeeze the plastic headband (which btw is very durable and won't ever break with normal use) back in shape or often keep it inside the container where it is bent tighter, it will actually stay firmly on your head unless something knocks it off or you lean your head backwards and parallel to the ground and start shaking.

Nuforce is not made by Ultrasone. Check out their website for more info and if you have questions direct it to the UF-30 thread on head-fi.org
