Hot Sauce-Fi

Anyone on Head-fi collect hot sauces? Here a few that I currently have in rotation:

This is a great habanero based hot sauce with some really unique ingredients. Definitely on the high side of the scale for heat. I give it 8.5/10

The name says it all! This is some serious hot sauce. It comes with an eye dropper for "application". I give it 9.5/10

Great sauce, hilarious label! This is a mustard based hot sauce. Very tasty but not much kick to it. I give it 3/10

For reference, I use my general purpose Sriracha hotsauce as a 5/10 center point:

Bring on the head, Head-Fi!

Always up for trying some new hot sauces. I want to check out that one drop at a time one you posted. Any good places to order hot stuff online?

Cheers

Actually, I came across this site while getting my pictures:

Hot Sauce Super Store - HotSauceWorld.com

They have the One Drop sauce there for $9.

I found a hot sauce "store" at a Calgary Flee Market - Crossroads Flea Market and was in heaven there! Apparently it is ran by the daughter of the guy that makes Hatari brand hot sauces.

oh man i was gonna make this exact thread two days ago! I've always wanted to find a premixed hotsauce that i can dip various things into (eg tatertots) rather than cook with. All the premixes i've had havnt had much kick.
Glad to see we are alike.

I use a hot sauce called Toxic Waste

That stuff is definately one drop at a time material. You put a couple drops in a vat of spaghetti sauce and you can feel it. You don't want this on your tater tots!

How about a hot sauce made from the world's HOTTEST pepper? I would not dare put this on my tongue - Thai peppers were way over my limit.

Ghost Pepper Hot Sauces | Naga, Bhut, and Saba Jolokia Pepper Sauces of India.

I'd eat one of those peppers just to say I did it! I've been to Thailand and they definitely like to hide some little red peppers into their dishes. Sneaky buggers!

Joelby: can you recomend a dipping hot sauce (preferably pre-mixed or easy to mix) for tatertots and the like?

There is actually a scientific unit of measurement for hot peppers, the Scoville Heat Unit, corresponding to 1/15ppm of capsaicin.

Damn CDBacklash you got me cravin' tatertots big time!

The Colon Cleaner sauce I posted above would probably be great if you're into a mustardy kinda flavour. You could really lather it on too as it isn't that hot.

I'd look for a good Chipotle hot sauce if your into that flavour. We have one at home, can't think of the name of it (at work right now). I'll post it on here later..

Or: You could take any good hot sauce you like and mix it with a regular chilli sauce like Heinz Chilli Sauce. This would be a great way to get that perfect amount of heat in a thick dipping sauce.

Funny, I was thinking of starting of starting a thread like this the other day. I'm not really into really hot sauces, I like medium spiciness better. I am partial to the Jim Beam hot sauce and my new discovery, Nando's Medium Peri Peri. Pics later.

The Nando's sauce is South African/Portuguese style. It's delicious.

I use Siracha like ketchup.
That one drop hot sauce looks fun.
