Makes me want to search out a pair of L3000's!!!

The only thing that concerns me about that is the fact that I'd have to ship it back. But you do have a point. Stock, I could order in a month. Maxxed, will probably take me around 3 months. Why can't we ever be patient in this hobby? lol

True that.... hard to wait.... it was just a thought.

Also I agree about shipping amps too much... Jack uses some nice crates, but still can have issues if dropped. I got mine second hand from Flordia, and I also shipped it back to Jack for update... and didn't have any issues.

Trust me, I was talking about myself. lol

I think I have now decided to go with the stock version for now(so i can get it faster lol). But one thing I am trying to figure out is if I want to go with the standard or LE version. I just don't see a lot of high efficiency speakers that really catch my eye.

Also, can the K1000 only be used with the standard version? I assume so since it needs the extra wattage? I don't see myself owning them in the future, but I still see it as a plus.

Drop Jack a note... he will let you know... it depends on the other orders in his queue.

As far as the K1000... Most of the time it is pushed with speaker outs or via the 4 pin connector (like the one on the front of the regular WA5). I have seen a connector once that turned the K1000 into a standard headphone jack.. And for sure the WA5 has enough power to push them in the headphone jacks... When I listen to the L3000 a 1/4 turn on the volume is maxing out my listening level (which is loud).

Okay, it's been over a month. I think I have to say(I think for the first time in this hobby) that these are the best headphones I have owned to date.

For perspective buyers, the only fault I can find is that for some it may be too dark. If the HD650 is too dark for you, I would try to hear these before buying. Still the resolution is leagues above the HD650(imo) and this balances out their dark tone for me. With phones like the HD650, the darkness tends to give a feeling of a lack of detail. With these, it's not the case as the detail is there even with the intense lushness of the midrange.

These won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I think I will still be buying the HD800 as it seems like it would be a great compliment, along with a better amp once my cc debt is paid off(I'm about 75% there, one more month lol).

Had them for about a year or so... and I would agree.

....with one qualifier for me - best dynamic I have owned (The O2's still sing to me)

They sure do grow on you. More than any other can I've owned. The HE60 impressed my immediately from the beginning. Same for the K1000, RS-1, W5000, HP-2.....but these have provided the most long-term gratification. Each of the former cans have left me wanting something musically. These have not, I simply want something to contrast them.

If only the HD800 would come out already! lol
