woah. I just went to that Beats by Dr. Dre Official Site site.
It says "The World's Best Headphone."

Isn't that a little too presumptuous?

It's the worlds best headphone in their little world but in reality it is very very very far from being even consider the worlds best...This is how the fool they average consumer....sad.

haha, i know a few american sports stars from when i lived there. and a lot of people from outside america. kobe is most famous for me for doing bad things to women if i am correct - as i don't follow basketball (american or european).

however if you people who say you have never heard of british sports stars are real: what do they teach you over there? as far as i know, the british play mostly sports that are big in the world or biggest in the world, so how can you not know british stars?

basketball is a hard one to say as it is somewhat international, but if this was baseball, i would completely understand.

that said, the colorware looks fab. was going to do my macbook. they charge massive prices but if you want it done, they are probably the best to do. i would get blue and gold probably, gold band and blue icon maybe... hard to say - to match my bike!

edit:
okay aside from the fact that nearly no one at headfi has heard the monster beats (and no i have no affiliation with monster), how can we even speculate? every company produces high end stuff and then calls it the worlds best or uses another phrase to make us think that. it is the company's prerogative to do that: marketing sells product -- and no one can ever make the worlds best headphone as in the end, it relies upon consumer input and opinion whether it is the best or not.

im sure the beats don't stand up to top senn, ultrasone, etc, but give it a rest with standing up something you have not only never heard, but have a predisposition to hate. jude himself said they were quite good, balanced etc but had problem with the battery module.

personally, i would never want to own a headphone that relies on battery power to make passive and active noise cancellation but that is me: i prefer iems now for portability.

marketing is something that all companies are guilty of and no company should be sacrificed for it. for instance, i am looking at the pfe packaging that says "new audeo earphones offer unrivaled comfort" -- they are singly the most uncomfortable earphones i have tried. if they were bose, apple, monster or another hated company, they would be lynched for saying this.
