What do you guys think about XP-33? - Page 2

When was the XP-33 manufactured? I have an XP-500, which was manufactured in June 1995. Really decent sound from the line out and not too shabby from the headphone out either with decent headphones. Pairs nicely with the PX-200s. I'm just wondering if the XP-500 is comparable to the XP-33. My guess it that the XP-33 is probably a couple of years older and therefore sounds a bit better than the 500.

The two XP-33's I saw had a manufacture date of 1994, so they aren't too much older than the XP-500...

Estuve a punto de comprar un XP-33, pero después se me olvidó y ya se había vendido (Onix: I was about to buy the xp-33, but then I forget to buy it and someone already bought it)
Sobre mi D-141, estoy esperando empezar a armar mi META42 con X-feed lo antes posible. Traté de escuchar mis AKG 401, pero se escuchaba bajísimo. A todo esto, se nota sónicamente una diferencia con el X-feed? (About my d-141, Im waiting to start DIYing my META42 with X-feed ASAP. I've tried to hear my AKG K 401, but the volume what really low. Anyways, do you think that I would really hear a sonical difference with the X-feed?)

I wrote a review of the 320 here on Head-Fi a few months back. I say stock up on some Aiwa's while they still can be had for less than $10, because if one of the senior members of this board gets one and posts a favorable review, the fun's over

Darn I was wondering how long that was going to take before someone else noticed it.

Thanks for the heads-up. My XP-55 is still going strong, and I just recently received a Panasonic SL-S290 that I like alot, so I'm going to let this one pass. Go for it Jonny Quest, at this point it probably won't cost too much, and it will be the biggest bargain in PCDP's you can find.
Today I also received an AKG K240S, so naturally, I whipped out all the old PCDP's (never know when a headphone matches better with one PCDP over another). Fresh comparison between the Aiwa XP-55, XP-R220, Panasonic SL-S290, S330, and Sony D-5, D-11. D-5 and D-11 were left in the dust, XP-R220 just doesn't have the juice for the K240S. The S330 is too bassy, combined with the 240, which is bassy enough, not a good combo. That leaves the XP-55 and SL-S290. The XP-55 impresses me again, nice clean, detailed sound. Powers the 240S good, but not with "authority", like it does the Sennheiser HD-25. The SL-S290, while not as finely detailed as the XP-55, paired with the 240S is Webster's definition of "authority". So, since I listen mainly to hard rock/metal, the 240S and the Panasonic SL-S290 reign supreme. When I'm in the mood for something mellower, like Dave Matthews for instance, the XP-55 is the way to go.

English: I have no idea about the X-feed, but most people would say that crossfed circuits appear to not make a difference on firsts hearings, but after a while you notice the changes in your music. Why don't you check for the D-33, as I recall there was one for sale in Argentina, in either Mercado Libre or De Remate. Good Luck and cheers.

Suerte y saludos a Santiago.
