Nice move!
Can't hardly do much wrong with a system like that...

Hi,

can you bypass the volume control of the BHSE? I think it's better than even Alps RK50. Or are there disadvantages? I'm using my RME Fireface 400 only for the volume control.

I've never touched my Stax SRM-727 since there is a switch inside to turn the level control off.

I agree with this as well, but the fact remains that this sort of an ideal system is simply beyond the budget of all these "kids" that are getting slammed here.

Getting a top-notch source is only the beginning. Truly transparent amps and headphones are expensive as well. To achieve a musically and emotionally satisfying rig following the philosophy of "source first" is a costly enterprise - although the end result will exceed the performance of those that EQ their sound with their amp or headphones.

I know my argument has no real place on the High-End forum, just stating that these "kids" are only trying to achieve the best sounding rig they can with the budget they have, and to do that often requires choosing coloured components, or investing mostly in the headphone and less so in the amp/source.
