Right out of the box I was disappointed with the IE8's, but after 100+ hours of burn in, I really started to enjoy the sound. How do you like your turbines? I ordered a pair from Monster but have yet to receive a shipping notice with a tracking number.

I like the Turbines quite a lot too. They're fantastic, especially for the price. In comparison to the IE8's, the bass is right about on par. The mids are very good too. The highs can seem to slightly border on harsh, after you're used to the smooth liquid treble of the IE8's. But it's not bad at all. Isolation is better than with the IE8's, and Sony EX silicon tips work great with them, which helps the isolation I suppose.

I really hope Monster gets your order shipped. That's not cool. Best of luck, and post some impressions once you get them. There's a new Monster Turbine Appreciation thread (only if you do appreciate them, that is!).

If you asked me bass on this is of very good quality. However, I find its not loud enough.

Just wondering, does anyone here find any problems with the balance. Its either me or the huge soundstage.

Maybe you aren't getting a seal in one of your ears, or maybe you have a defective pair. There is some sort of wave/sound test thing that lets you check the balance, but its name escapes me at the moment.

I think I just grabbed a pair of IE7 as well for $93.

How does the ebay live cashback work? I've used it before but on Tiger Direct, and there was an icon that showed I would get cashback. This time I logged in to live, searched, clicked on 13% ebay link, and then used buy it now on a second chance item, and paid with paypal with a coupon... lol. There wasn't an icon this time for ebay on top of the site. Think I will get that cashback by doing it like that?

Guess what. A few hours after your above posting, I got a knock at the door. It was UPS with my Turbines! Don't know why monster didn't give me any shipping information but hey, I got them

T400 comply tips work great with them. As for SQ, soundstage isn't as wide (still relatively close) and bass is more pronounced as compared with the medium dual flange tips that I use.

Just got my Turnines, and I have the IE7's. I'm burning in the Turbines so it's not fair to make a comparison as of yet. What I can compare is the 'right out of the box' sound. Turbines have more controlled bass, better imaging, and sharper highs. I wasn't very impressed with how the IE8 and IE7 sounded right out of the box.

The Turbines isolate a lot better. I use the large triple flange tips.

I will update when I get 300+ hours of burn in on the turbines, then I can make a fair comparison.

More controlled bass with the turbines? To me, they sounded overly boomy and the mids were almost completely overtaken by the lows. I preferred the quality of the IE7 bass to the turbines even if the turbines had more quantity.
