I bought a pair of Grado SR80's last year and they are now well burnt in and since then I have pretty much not listened to my A700's. I have a pair of Ultrasone HFI-780 on the way so I decided to dig my Little Dot Mico+ out of the drawer and make sure its charged. I really haven't used the LDM+ much, buying it more to play around with and to see how an amp changes the sounds of a pair of cans then acutually use it with my iPod. Well, I hooked it up to the A700's from my laptop and WOW. BASS! Before the A700 had a little bit of tight bass, now, song's like Disturbed's Inside The Fire sound better on the A700 with the LDM+ then with the SR80 without amp. Hoping the SR80 would benefit as much, I was disappointed to find it seemed to muddle the bass and add harshness to the treble. Oh well, can't wait for the Ultrasones which I have read have some pretty awesome bass.
