It has a very thin, hard to strip teflon layer. It is not really stiff, i mean it's very very thin and bendy, but it has a plasticy feel that does not inspire confidence. I have a headphone cable made of it now that sounds really good, but i try not to bend it much.

Uh can some one help a noob out? I have recable job but ive never done one before (lots of soldering though). Im from the US so what all do i need to do a 1/4" recable job for a single entry setup? I assume this isnt the normal quad conductor stuff thats shielded. So is the stuff just 1 strand so you need 4x the amount of the cable length to your cans? Do you need shielding too or just braid the stuff and then put plastic braiding on it?

^ I suggest you read through this: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f6/how...ep-pics-50729/.
For a headphone cable you will need 4 wires and connector(s). The quadcable from Mogami or Canare will work, yes. Shielding is not necessary.

Finally received my Banzai wires in mail. They were out of bare 24awg at the time, so they shipped the teflon insulated wires first. Supposedly the bare wires will be shipped soon without additional shipping cost to me.
Delivery time was 16 days (from ordering), not bad. Average price per ft, for teflon insultated 24awg, is about $3 (including shipping). This final price is actually not that much better than PCX (which was about $3.5 per ft when they had the 20% off sale. Of course this is before adding shipping cost, but I usually have other parts in the same order so shipping charge will be applied anyway). The PCX delivery is usually a little faster though, about 8 days for my location.
by the way, the OD of teflon coated 24awg is around 0.030", about the same as my other teflon jacketed 24awg silver wires.
I have just finished a set of quad-braid IC using these wires, they are burning in right now.
